The Brooks at Weatherford Wedding | Real Bride Abbey

Sometimes the biggest moments in life happen because of one small decision. For Abbey Welch, that decision was agreeing to one more stop during a night out with friends in Fort Worth. She was more than ready to head home, but her friends had other plans.

"One more bar!" they insisted. Reluctantly, Abbey agreed.

That final stop led them to Thirsty Armadillo's, where a newly transplanted Californian named Jake was spending the evening with coworkers and friends. One of the women in Jake's group approached Abbey and asked if she was single.

"My first response was, 'Who's asking?'" Abbey recalled.

Handsome and shy, Jake introduced himself and asked Abbey to dance. The two fell hard for each other, building a relationship rooted in love, adventure, and support.

Years later, their love story took them far beyond Texas. Since Jake's career often requires travel, the couple embraced life on the road, living in a camper and exploring the country together. In June 2025, while living in Arizona, Jake planned a surprise Abbey would never forget.

He had recently gifted her a Mini Australian Shepherd puppy named Rooster, and suggested they take their new companion on a hike through the White Tank Mountains outside Phoenix. For Abbey, the outing seemed completely ordinary. With Rooster by their side and sweeping mountain views surrounding them, Jake got down on one knee and asked Abbey to spend forever with him.

When wedding planning began, finding the perfect dress quickly became a priority. After researching bridal boutiques and designers, Abbey kept coming back to Luxe Redux Bridal Dallas.

"The amount of compliments I've gotten about my dress are unmatched," she shared. "The dress was truly a jaw-dropper."

On April 4, 2026, Abbey and Jake exchanged vows at The Brooks at Weatherford, surrounded by loved ones who traveled from near and far to celebrate their next chapter. While the stunning venue created a beautiful backdrop for the day, what stood out most to Abbey was the people. With Abbey's family rooted in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and Jake's family traveling from Redding, California, gathering everyone together in one place felt incredibly meaningful.

"We probably won't have everyone under one roof again," Abbey reflected.

Abbey's advice for future #luxereduxbrides? "If you're worried whether a wedding planner is worth the money, it absolutely is," she said. "I don't think I could've pulled off a wedding like I had without my planner, Stefanie."

She also encourages couples to keep their focus on what truly matters. "Do not sweat the small stuff . . . at the end of the day, the most important part is you and your partner getting married and becoming one. The rest is just a fun bonus."

Beyond the décor, the dress, and the carefully planned details, the day represented something much bigger: two people who found each other because of a last-minute decision, took a chance on a first dance, and never looked back.
