What to Wear Wedding Dress Shopping
You said YES, now time to find the perfect dress! Wedding dress shopping is one of the most special + memorable parts of planning a wedding! From spending the day with your loved ones, to finding the style that makes you feel the most confident, this day should be filled with celebration for you + your upcoming big day. Whether you already have the exact vision for your bridal look or have no idea where to start, what to wear wedding dress shopping is often overlooked. If you’re wondering what to wear at your bridal appointment, don’t you worry, we’ve put together a list that will help you plan for this exciting event! Neutral Undergarments
When trying on wedding dresses, you’ll want to wear undergarments that are neutral to your skin tone + that will show as little as possible. A bra isn’t necessary many wedding dresses contain structural elements, such as boning, padding, corsetry, linings, and interlinings, that make wearing a bra unnecessary If you do choose to wear one, make sure it’s comfortable + breathable! You may want to consider wearing a pair of silicone nipple covers if that makes you feel more comfortable! While shape wear is not needed or required, feel free to bring it or throw it on under your clothes in preparation for your appointment, if it’ll make you feel the most beautiful or confident throughout the process! If you are planning on wearing shape wear on your wedding day, it’s best to have it with you, so that you can envision and feel the complete look!
Footwear
When heading out the door for you appointment, be sure to wear shoes that you can take on + off easily, as you’ll be in and of dresses for about 2 hours! If you’re planning on wearing heels for the big day, we also recommend bringing your wedding day shoes, or shoes that are similar in height, to your appointment. You’ll be barefoot most of the time, but once you’ve chosen your 2-3 favorite dresses, slip on your wedding shoes to get a better idea what the dress looks like all put together!
Clothing
You are encouraged to wear whatever outfit makes you feel the most beautiful, confident, and comfortable to your bridal appointment! Whether that's a little white dress, jeans + a cute top, or sweats, we're here to make your wedding dress shopping experience personal to you.
