Pittsburgh, affectionately known as 'The Steel City' is a bustling, urban city where rivers weave between buildings + under magnificent bridges, the skyline twinkles like a star-studded canvas, and steel mills echo the tales of their illustrious past, where this beautiful city gained it's nickname!
Earlier this year, we had the pleasure of collaborating with a team of amazing Pittsburgh wedding vendors to put together a magical, urban rooftop bridal styled shoot, and the results were truly a dream! A rooftop wedding is truly a unique + beautiful experience, especially in Pittsburgh. With the city's stunning skyline as your backdrop, you're able to exchange vows under the open sky, surrounded by friends + family and panoramic views of the iconic steel bridges, flowing rivers and historic buildings. As the sun sets, the city lights begins to twinkle in the golden hour glow, creating a romantic + enchanting atmosphere for your 'I do's'. This chic urban celebration beautifully blends the charm of the city with the intimacy of your most important day. This styled shoot took place at Over Eden, a rooftop bar in our Lawrenceville neighborhood, on the TRYP Pittsburgh Hotel. This gorgeous space provided us with a perfect blank canvas to make it our own + transform it for shoot day!
While working with Tiffany Hilgar of Tiffany and Design and Emily Vandegrift of Simply Bold Events, the amazing Pittsburgh-based wedding planners that put together this shoot, we knew that we wanted the vibe to be intimate, modern and chic with a touch of glam. With that, we decided to shoot with Wtoo Clea - a sleek + modern bridal gown with a flattering cowl neckline and sultry corset-style back.
Our beautiful model, Kayla, looked absolutely perfect in this style, paired with a chic updo done by Glam to Go, a talented team of Pittsburgh hair + makeup artists. Her glam was done by Total Babe Beauty, and Ashley Munson, of Ashley Sara Photography, captured her look beautifully, along with the dreamy details that took this shoot to the next level. Kayla's husband, Alex, modeled with her as well, for an authentic wedding day vibe between this gorgeous couple. Alex looked just as amazing as his wife for shoot day in a cream suit by Surmesur.
Elegant white florals by Community Flower Shop lined the banquet-style table, and made up a stunning bouquet that Kayla modeled beautifully. Florals also topped the chic single-tier cake, baked by The Butterwood Bake Consortium, which added to the elevated details that made this shoot amazing! Prior to shooting with our amazing models, Ashley took photos of the modern black + white invitation suite, made by the talented Addison Steighner of By Addison.
The other amazing vendors who made this shoot possible include Eventioneers Event Rental + All Occasions Party Rental who supplied furniture and flatware for a complete, wedding reception feel. Lendable Linens, a nationwide linen rental company, provided table linens to top the chic rentals, and the lovely Henne Jewelers provided jewelry for the shoot.
